Membership Privileges and Limitations


8. a. Active Registered Member

Active Registered members shall have the right to use the letters R.C.P.T. (CP), Registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist (Cardio-Pulmonary); R.C.P.T. (C), Registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist (Cardiac); R.C.P.T. (P), Registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist (Pulmonary); after their name. There shall be no restriction to the privilege of an Active Registered member other than those herein after stated in the bylaws. Provided the member is in good standing, an active registered member is entitled to vote at all meetings, hold an appointed or elected office in the Corporation and attend all annual and general meetings and is entitled to receive all publications and to contribute to the same.

b. Inactive Registered Member

Inactive registered members shall have the right to use the letters R.C.P.T. (CP), Registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist (Cardiac); R.C.P.T. (C), Registered Cardio-Pulmonary Technologist (Pulmonary); R.C.P.T. (P), after their name. Provided the member is in good standing, an Inactive member shall have the same privileges as an Active Registered member with the following exceptions: i. An inactive member will not have the right to vote at meetings and ii. nor the right to hold elected office in the corporation. The Inactive Registered member does have the right to: i. attend all Annual and General meetings; ii. the right to be appointed and sit on committees if asked by the Board of Directors; iii. is entitled to receive all publications and to contribute to the same.

c. Student/Registration Eligible

Student/Registration Eligible members are not eligible to vote on any matters or be elected to any office except as specifically provided for in the bylaws herein after. They are entitled to receive all publications and contribute to same and may attend all Annual General Meetings and hold appointed office and to be on committee.

d. Honourary Member

Honourary members are not entitled to vote or to hold elected office in the corporation unless registered under bylaw 9.a. Honourary Members (a) are not subject to annual dues fee, (b) are entitled to hold an appointed office in the corporation, (c) may attend all Annual and General Meetings and (d) are entitled to receive all publications and to contribute to the same.

e. Supporting Member

Supporting members are not entitled to vote or to hold elected office; are entitled to receive all publications and contribute to the same and may attend all Annual and General meetings and hold appointed office and be on committee.

f. Associate Member

Associate members shall be entitled to all privileges of an Active member except: the right to vote on any matter; the right to be elected to any office, and the right to use the letters R.C.P.T. after their name.
