Job 1: Pulmonary Technologist
Job Description:
· Perform pulmonary function and lung capacity tests including: spirometry, flow-volume loops, body plethysmography, diffusing capacity testing, respiratory muscle strength testing, pulse oximetry, six minute walk tests, and methacholine challenge testing.· Set-up, calibration, trouble shooting and routine maintenance of the pulmonary function testing laboratory equipment
· Be fully knowledgeable about company standards and procedures relating to the performance and documentation of testing, the booking system, reporting procedures, turn around times.
· The candidate must be capable of independent work within the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab
Qualifications:
· University degree in Human Life Sciences or college diploma with a major Medical Technology Program, with associated College registry· Registered Pulmonary Function Technologist or registry eligible with the Canadian Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Technologists (C.A.C.P.T.)
· Current BCLS
· Ability to work with minimal supervision in a sophisticated laboratory environment
· Basic proficiency in computers and strong technical skills.
· Attention to detail and efficient time management
· Excellent problem solving, communication, organizational skills.
· Must have excellent interpersonal skills
